Design Data Sheet: Calculation of Surface Ship Annual Energy Usage, Annual Energy Cost, and Fully Burdened Cost of Energy

Abstract

The lifecycle cost of energy is a function of three important factors, all of which include varying amounts of uncertainty: the operational profile of the ship, the future Fully Burdened Cost of Energy (FBCE), and the physical characteristics of the ship and its equipment. This Design Data Sheet (DDS) outlines the procedure to estimate the annual energy consumption and annual energy cost of non-nuclear surface ships.
