TriSWACH ASW Corvette
Abstract
The objective of this project is to develop a concept design of a Trimaran Small Waterplane Area Centerhull (TriSWACH) Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) corvette. The advantages of using the TriSWACHs are the hullform s inherent good seakeeping at small displacement, good intact stability, large usable deck area compared to monohulls, and small installed power compared to Small Waterplane Area Twin Hulls (SWATHs). The design is an 1,845 mt vessel, with a length of 102 m and an overall beam of 24.3 m. The vessel has been designed for a manning of 59 personnel. The propulsion system is diesel electric with installed power of 12,400 kW. The maximum speed is 25 knots and the range is 3,500 nm at 15 knots. The vessel has ASW armaments (torpedo tube, Vertical Launch Anti-Submarine Rocket, hull mounted sonar and Towed Array Sonar). In addition, to enhance the ASW capability, a helo flight deck is added.
