Environmental Assessment for the Repair, Reconstruction, and/or Replacement of the Main Base Runway, Edwards Air Force Base, California

Abstract

This report presents the results of the Environmental Assessment (EA) which evaluates the potential environmental effects associated with the proposed repair, reconstruction, and/or replacement of the existing Main Base runway (Runway 04/22) at Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), California. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), this EA has been prepared to analyze the potential environmental consequences of the proposed action. The proposed project would involve the repair, reconstruction, and/or replacement of the Main Base Runway, Runway 04/22. The analysis in this EA illustrates that none of the environmental impacts from the proposed action would be significant if the required/recommended minimization measures are followed. This analysis resulted in a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) based on the absence of significant adverse impacts to the environment.
