Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment Workshop Report, Buzzards Bay, MA

Abstract

Risk identification and mitigation are and have been ongoing activities within the Buzzards Bay area. As a step toward standardizing methodology, a formal Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) for Buzzards Bay was conducted in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, on 9-10 September 2003. The results of that workshop are provided in this report and include the following information: (1) Brief description of the process used for the assessment; (2) List of participants; (3) Numerical results from the following activities: (a) Team Expertise; (b) Risk Factor Rating Scales; (c) Absolute Risk Levels; (d) Present Risk Levels; (e) Intervention Effectiveness. (4) Summary of risks and mitigations discussion.
