MIL-PRIME - The Performance Oriented Business Approach

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of ASD's Deputy for Engineering performance oriented business approach, more popularly known as "Mil-Prime." The development of MilPrime specifications and standards is certainly not a new subject at ASD. What is new is the integration of these tailorable, performance oriented documents with the System Engineering Master Schedule concept, enhanced RFP preparation activities, and a streamlined source selection process. The effectiveness of these activities reflects the synergism of this corporate business approach.
