Effectiveness of Cognitive, Exposure, and Skills Group Manualized Treatments in OIF/OEF Female Veterans

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to evaluate and establish the effectiveness of three behavioral treatments for PTSD exposure, cognitive, and skills (assertiveness/relaxation) therapies provided in a group format. Active recruitment and treatment began February 2009. A total of 97 study subjects completed the initial assessment and 86 were randomized to either the minimal attention wait-list arm or the treatment arm. In year five, no adverse events occurred. Subject enrollment was closed on 9/1/2012 and all assessments and treatments completed on 4/5/2013, just prior to the end of year 5. The study remains open for data analysis.
