AGOR 28: SIO Shipyard Representative Bi-Weekly Progress Report

Abstract

AGORs 27 and 28 are new "Ocean Class" research vessels being built at the Dakota Creek Industries Inc. (DCI) of Anacortes, WA shipyard under the supervision of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), the contracted operator, with delivery of AGOR 27 schedule for late 2014 and AGOR 28 in 2015. AGOR-27, first of the class, will be named after Neil Armstrong. AGOR-28, second of the class, will become the R/V Sally Ride. During this period, witnessed structure and weld inspection with ABS in attendance of numerous structural components of AGOR 29.
