A Lean Approach to Scheduling Systems Engineering Resources

Abstract

Integrated Master Schedules serve a critical purpose in coordinating system development. However, in large operational systems where evolution is both rapid and externally driven, they can fail to provide the flexibility and visibility required for strategic decision making. Research into applying lean concepts to scheduling may hold the answer.
