Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Cellulosic Materials to Fermentable Sugars for the Production of Ethanol

Abstract

This report summarizes the work performed during the quarter ended September 30, 1980 by U.S. Army Research and Development Command Environmental Services and Engineering Division Foot Services Laboratory under an interagency agreement between the U.S. Army Research and Development Laboratories and the U.S. Department of Energy to conduct basic and applied research in the conversion of cellulose to glucose sugar through enzymatic hydrolysis for the production of ethanol. Included are the financial expenditures incurred during quarter and the work planned for the next quarter.
