Native Beach Assessment Techniques for Beach Fill Design

Abstract

In order to properly design a beach nourishment project, the condition of the existing native beach needs to be determined. Characterization of the sediment grain size distribution and active beach profile envelope is needed to properly define volume of fill material required, the design profile template, and suitability of grain size distribution of the borrow material.
