Deciphering the Translational Determinants of Prostate Cancer Initiation and Progression

Abstract

My work is focused on determining the molecular mechanism by which aberrant translational control downstream oncogenic PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling causes and drives prostate cancer progression. The goal of this work is to provide the mechanistic rationale for using novel second-generation mTOR inhibitors in the clinic for the alleviation of human suffering and death from mTOR driven malignancies.
