Plasma ARC/SCWO Sysems for Waste-to-Energy Applications Utilizing Milwaste Fuels

Abstract

The Vitracycle program was a research and development program aimed at developing a solid waste treatment technology to compliment General Atomics? (GA?s) existing supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology. While SCWO is for the treatment of liquid wastes, Vitracycle was designed as a treatment technology for solid wastes. GA partnered with Asian Pacific Environmental Technologies (APET) to develop a plasma arc vitrification (PAV) system to process solid wastes.
