The Role of the U.S. Army in Air Sea Battle

Abstract

Combat operations have concluded in Iraq and are winding down in Afghanistan while the United States is shifting focus, forces, and capabilities to the Asia-Pacific region. This paper explores what the rebalance to the Pacific theater means for the Army. Beginning with a review of current Army missions, the role of the Army in Air-Sea Battle is explored. The paper concludes with resource modernization recommendations.
