Initiatives to Control Military Health Costs

Abstract

Chairman Graham and distinguished members of the Committee, thank you for inviting me to testify today on present and future costs of defense health care. It is an honor and pleasure to be here. My testimony will briefly discuss cost trends in Defense health care and then focus on two areas in which the Department of Defense might consider making changes: (1) TRICARE benefit design and (2) organizational structure of the Military Health System.
