Army Logistician. Volume 41, Issue 3, May-June 2009

Abstract

Cover: The common operating environment has proven that all Soldiers, not just those in maneuver units, need to be equipped to protect themselves from enemy attack. While transporting supplies, logistics convoys are escorted by security teams to defend themselves from attack. The articles beginning on pages 28, 32, and 35 explore the use of convoy security teams in Operation Iraqi Freedom. On the cover, Soldiers from the 626th Brigade Support Battalion, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), perform precombat checks on their gun trucks before a convoy.
