The NATO Unmanned Aircraft System Human Systems Integration Guidebook

Abstract

This guidebook was prepared by the HSI Specialty Team for the UAS Flight in Non-Segregated Airspace (FINAS) Working Group, NATO Joint Capability Group for UAS (JCGUAS). It provides guidance for consideration of the human component of UAS to decrease human performance-related accidents and incidents and improve safety, thereby facilitating routine flight of UAS in non-segregated airspace. It was the product of FINAS study number 4685, which baselined the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence Standard 00-250, Human Factors for Designers of Systems, and extracted the high-level process-related elements that were applicable to a generic systems engineering framework for designing and procuring UAS.
