Army Logistician. Volume 37, Issue 4, July-August 2005

Abstract

Civilian contractors perform a wide range of support functions for U.S. military personnel deployed around the world. The Army s Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) contractor, Halliburton Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR), provides food, water, shelter, hygiene and laundry facilities, air traffic control, crash and fire rescue services, and other logistics support to Army personnel serving in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. On the cover, a LOGCAP worker stacks worn tires for transport to Kuwait for disposal in early 2004. The article beginning on page 24 concludes a two-part guide for commanders using LOGCAP.
