Marine Corps Intelligence Forecasting: A Way Forward

Abstract

The challenges that the United States and its Marine Corps will face in the future will be highly complex and hybrid in nature. Meeting these challenges will necessitate a robust forecasting capability that serves to characterize the future operating environment. To achieve this end, current Marine Corps intelligence forecasts must be woven into the operational battle rhythm, incorporating the operational perspective with an aim toward improved operations-intelligence integration. Current Marine Corps intelligence forecasts are moving in the direction of a more integrated approach, but much remains to be done to build forecasts that are of high utility to the warfighter. Elements across the Marine Corps ISR Enterprise must make a dedicated effort toward this goal, preparing America's expeditionary force in readiness to meet the challenges of the future.
