Isolating the Terrorists: The Abu Sayyaf Group Case Study

Abstract

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is currently addressing three major threats to national security. These threats are the New People's Army, which is the armed instrument of the Communist Party of the Philippines (AFP) the Southern Philippines secessionist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MllF), and the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) that has links to the Jemaah Islamiya and AI Qaeda.
