Lateral Mixing DRI Analysis: Submesoscale Water-Mass Spectra

Abstract

My longterm goals are understanding the smallscale ocean processes responsible for stirring and mixing in the ocean so that their impact on larger scales can be realistically parameterized. My interests includes phenomena ranging from the microscale (1 cm) up to the mesoscale (10-100 km) including internal waves, fronts, potential vorticity fine structure, turbulence production and salt-fingering.
