The Contribution of the Spanish Guardia Civil to the Peace and Stability Operations Within the Human Security Framework

Abstract

The Spanish Guardia Civil contributes to the establishment of a more secure human environment during peace and stability operations. This paper will discuss the Spanish Guardia Civil in relationship to human security, assess the Guardia's role in peace and stability operations and then discuss the potential for U.S. armed forces and interagency personnel adopting a Spanish Guardia Civil type model when involved in international security and peace and stability operations.
