Environmental Assessment. Increase Fuel Storage Capacity, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware

Abstract

The Proposed Action is to construct a new 80,000 barrel (approximately 3.3 million gallon) aboveground storage tank in the vicinity of the existing base service station to provide the current flying missions fuel without a pipeline supply in the event fuel flow through the pipeline would be interrupted. Proposed action will also include the construction of a new base service station for refilling of government vehicles and a new fuels management facility while demolishing facility 726. The No Action Alternative and an alternative consisting of another location for the new storage tank were also analyzed in this environmental assessment.
