Environmental Assessment for Destin 4th of July Fireworks and Beach Cleanup

Abstract

The proposed action is to grant a 5-year license for the City of Destin to conduct 4th of July Fireworks Displays at the east end of Santa Rosa Island at the base of the west jetty. The proposed action would involve a pyrotechnic display in the evening on the 4th of July, 2008-2012, followed by a beach cleanup. All mitigations identified by Eglin's Natural Resources Section, including those identified under an informal consultation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) would be followed in order to minimize potential impacts.
