Final Environmental Assessment 403rd Avionics Shop Relocation Project

Abstract

Keesler AFB proposes to construct and operate a new 403rd Avionics Shop Facility. The new facility, which will replace the existing 403rd Avionics Shop, will consist of offices, shops, and support spaces for aircraft maintenance and repair. The action also includes the construction of underground utilities, walks and drives, off-street parking, and landscaping . This EA evaluates the Proposed Action and the No-Action Alternatives. Under the No Action Alternative the 403rd Avionics Shop Facility would continue to operate in Hanger 1 and the site improvements proposed for Hanger 1 as part of the FY02 Technical Training Facility (TTF2) project would have to be made in another location. Resources considered in the impact analysis were: air quality, water resources, earth resources, noise, land use, infrastructure and utilities, hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, biological resources, cultural resources socioeconomic resources, and environmental justice. No significant impacts would result from the Proposed Alternative or No-Action Alternative .
