Optimization of Soft Tissue Management, Spacer Design, and Grafting Strategies For Large Segmental Bone Defects Using The Chronic Caprine Tibial Defect Model
Abstract
This proposal addresses the treatment of segmental bone defects and methods that can be used to manipulate the Masquelet induced membrane (IM) to create a graft bed that optimizes bone regeneration. The Chronic Caprine Tibial Defect (CCTD) model is used 1) to improve surgical technique and 2) to optimize spacer design; these are likely to advance bone regeneration strategies and translate into clinical practice
