Autonomous Wide Aperture Cluster for Surveillance (AWACS) - WHOI Component

Abstract

Our long-term goal is to use clusters of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to detect mobile sound sources using towed hydrophone arrays. We aim to use optimal sampling techniques and intervehicle communications to develop long-term surveillance capabilities over large areas in continental shelf and slope regions.
