Environmental Assessment of the General Plan and Maintenance of Patrick Air Force Base, Florida

Abstract

Pursuant to the Council on Environmental Quality regulations, the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 1500-1508, and 32 CFR 989, Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP), the U.S. Air Force (USAF) conducted an assessment of the potential environmental consequences of the Proposed Action to implement the Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB) General Plan (GP) for base sustainability in support of the 45th Space Wing (45 SW) mission. The Environmental Assessment (EA) for the PAFB GP, attached to this finding, considers the potential impacts of the Proposed Action and alternatives on the natural and human environments. The Proposed Action is to implement the PAFB General Plan and two projects in the South Housing Area in support of the 45th Space Wing mission. The EA addresses facility maintenance, repair, demolition, and construction as well as utility projects and general base maintenance and repair including grounds and landscaping projects proposed to occur in the next five years. Alternatives to the Proposed Action and the No-Action Alternative are discussed in the attached EA.
