Leadership Development Wargame Assessment

Abstract

The focus of this research is to develop an assessment tool that evaluates player leadership during the Leadership Development Wargame (LDW). The LDW provides players with an opportunity to gain a basic understanding into the complexities of shaping and deterrence phases of joint operations as well as counterinsurgencies. The Leadership Assessment Tool (LAT) is designed to analyze and assess leadership traits. It is patterned after the Army leadership model and focuses on the core attributes and competencies. The key product produced for this project is the Leadership Assessment Guide which describes the leadership evaluation process and the roles required for the LDW. The LAT and included Leadership Assessment Guide provide a framework to aid in the leadership assessment process.
