Hedonic Price Indices for Ground Vehicles

Abstract

As part of ongoing support to OSD(CAPE), IDA has been developing hedonic price indices for various types of military system. This paper reports preliminary results of investigations into hedonic indices for military ground vehicles, including both tactical and combat vehicles. We discuss issues associated with traditional hedonic methods, and propose a novel method designed to account for unobservable quality growth in military systems.
