Solar Structures Program

Abstract

The purpose of this research project was to explore the various aspects of solar power with a particular focus on nanosatellites. The team at the University of New Mexico s COSMIAC Center utilized a solar array, electrical power system and battery unit to do research on the various aspects required to be able to create a reliable power system for nanosatellites. The solar array was a six wing deployable array from the MMA Corporation. The electrical power system was from the Clyde Space Corporation and the batteries were from the GomSpace Corporation.
