Microscale Alloy Type Lithium Ion Battery Anodes

Abstract

The fabrication of microscale anodes designed for in situ atomic force microscopy testing is discussed. The anodes are partially confined in a nickel thin film and contain enough active material to be successfully used with conventional electrochemical testing methods. The electrodes are characterized by Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy.
