Abstract

This briefing provides background information on the Advanced Wireless Services 3 (AWS-3) auction by the FCC and subsequent initial approaches to mitigating the impacts of that auction on Aeronautical Mobile Telemetry (AMT) operations in the 1780-1850 MHz band. Specifically, the impact of new Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) services on AMT operations at the Edwards Range.
