Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Program for Expendable Launch Vehicles

Abstract

This document establishes the requirements for the preparation, implementation, and operation of a Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) Control Program for use during the design, development, and production of mission critical components on Expendable Launch Vehicles (ELVs). The implementation of these requirements is intended to: 1. Assure integrated management of the selection, application, procurement, control, and standardization of parts, materials, and processes (PMP); 2. Improve the reliability of program PMP to reduce PMP failures at all levels of assembly and test; 3. Reduce program life cycle cost; and 4. Improve procurement and test of small quantities of parts and materials that meet system requirements. This document supersedes TOR-98(1412)-1, Rev B, which was also released by USAF Space and Missile Systems Center as SMC-S-011 (2012).
