Report of the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission

Abstract

The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission was established by the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2013, as amended by the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2014, to provide the President of the United States and the Congress specific recommendations to modernize pay and benefits of the Uniformed Services. This Final Report includes 15 recommendations to modernize and strengthen the military compensation system for the Uniformed Services, including active and reserve component Service members. These 15 recommendations span three broad areas of compensation: 1) Pay and retirement; 2) Health benefits; and 3) Quality of life programs.
