Variability of the Kuroshio in the East China Sea, and its Relationship to the Ryukyu Current

Abstract

The long-term goal is to characterize and understand the dynamics of the time varying structure and transport of the Western Boundary Current (WBC) system at 26 -28 N in the northwest Pacific Ocean, in particular the Kuroshio in the East China Sea (ECS), and (with our Japanese colleagues) the Ryukyu Current.
