A Passive Sonar for UUV Surveillance Tasks

Abstract

The long-term goal is to develop a passive, autonomous, mobile system to investigate all types of noise in the ocean, both man-made and naturally occurring. The information will be used to improve the understanding of the noise field and the environmental factors which affect the propagation of underwater sound in coastal regions.
