Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) Finding of No Practicable Alternative (FONPA): Construct of a New Fire Station, Demolition of Buildings 530 and 606 and Relocation of the Hazardous Cargo Area at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota

Abstract

This EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, Council on Environmental Quality and Air Force Environmental Impact Analysis Process, to assess the potential environmental impacts to construct a new fire station, demolish buildings 530 and 606 and relocate the hazardous cargo area located in Grand Forks County, North Dakota. Relevant resource areas analyzed in the EA include Air Quality; Noise; Wastes, Hazardous Materials and Stored Fuels; Water Resources; Biological Resources; Socioeconomic Resources Cultural Resources; Land Use; Transportation Systems; Airspace/Airfield Operations; Safety and Occupational Health; Environmental Management and Environmental Justice. In addition to the Proposed Action, the Alternative Action and the No Action Alternative were analyzed in the EA. The EA also addresses the potential cumulative effects of the associated activities along with other concurrent actions at Grand Forks AFB and the surrounding area.
