Transforming System Engineering through Model-Centric Engineering

Abstract

This is the final report of the research task RT-141 Transforming System Engineering through Model-Centric Engineering finalizing RT-48/118. These RTs focused on NAVAIR leadership to assess the technical feasibility of transforming through holistic model-centric engineering. The effort investigates this feasibility through four overarching tasks: surveying Industry, Government and Academia, develop a common lexicon for things related to models, model the Airworthiness process, and integrate risk management. The feasibility of transformation had key items requiring high performance computing for cross-domain, multi-physics models, and the model integrity ensured use at scale and complexity. Previous report material is included for reference.
