AOSN MURI: Utility Acoustic Modem Component

Abstract

LONG-TERM GOALS. To create and demonstrate a reactive survey system, capable of long-term unattended deployments in harsh environments. We refer to such a system as an Autonomous Ocean Sampling Network (AOSN). The goals for this year on the Utility Acoustic Modem (UAM) component of the MURI were to develop and evaluate a complete prototype modem and then demonstrate this, in conjunction with other AOSN system components, in an at-sea engineering trial.
