Key Elements of Protection for Military Textiles

Abstract

This chapter discusses the currently recognized critical elements of protection for military personnel. A brief discussion of the history, the current state of the art and expectations for the future for each aspect of protection are given. Aspects of protection considered are limited to threats from human adversaries and include camouflage, ballistic protection and protection from toxic vapors, aerosols and liquids.
