Environmental Assessment: 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Goldsboro, North Carolina

Abstract

The proposed action includes implementing the following recommendations: the United States Air Force would redistribute eight KC-135R aircraft to the 916th Air R~fueling Wing (ARW) and establish a Centralized Intermediate Repair Facility (CIRF) for Fl 00-220 engines from the 1st Fighter Wing at SJAFB. Seven infrastructure and facility construction projects were identified to improve and support the realignment action. This Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared in compliance with Air Force Instruction 32-706 l , the Environmental Impact Analysis Process, as referenced in Section 989 of Title 32 Code of Federal Regulations.
