RENO V Working Draft of Outline Plan for Operations of the Southwest Pacific Area 1944-1945

Abstract

The Joint Chiefs of Staff have designated the Formosa-Luzon-China area as the strategic objective of operations in the Pacific during 1944 and early 1945 in order to support the Chinese war effort and establish bases for a final assault upon Japan. They have decided to establish forces in the Formosa-Luzon-China area by advances from present positions through the Marianas Carolines, Palau and Mindanao.
