Proposed Construction of Boulder Seismic Station Monitoring Sites, Boulder, Wyoming. Environmental Assessment

Abstract

Since its inception in 1973, AFTAC's mission has been monitoring nuclear treaty compliance and nuclear proliferation, including seismic monitoring to detect nuclear explosions. To accomplish this mission, AFTAC must be on the cusp of modem monitoring technology. To reach this goal, AFT AC must test and evaluate newly developed equipment based on seismo-acoustic monitoring technology. This requires construction of seven additional seismic monitoring stations dedicated for test and evaluation use at the AFT AC' s existing site at Boulder, Wyoming.
