Results of Fiber-Optic-Interferometer Density Measurements Performed in the Plasma-Opening-Switch Region of DM1

Abstract

Fiber optic interferometer (FOI) measurements were performed in the plasma opening switch (POS) region of DMI. These are the first such measurements successfully accomplished on DM1 and constitute the first detailed look at the behavior of the plasma when driven by the DM1 current.
