Highlights from the 17th International Conference on Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Whistler, BC, August 6-11, 2004

Abstract

Participants came from many different fields. following areas: 1. Group Decision Support Methods; 2. Decision Support Methods; 3. AHP applications; 4. Multi-Objective Linear Programming (MOLP) algorithms; 5. Industrial engineering applications; 6. Behavioural considerations, and 7. Fuzzy MCDM. Of the many subjects presented, the following appeared to be of potential interest to ORD. Further research into some of those areas could provide insight in the way we deal with multicriteria decision problems. Further details concerning these areas and their application to specific ORD projects will be discussed in phase 2 of the Maritime OR Toolset Review.
