Pressure Distributions Over Bodies of Revolution for Axial Flow

Abstract

Calculated pressure distributions are given in the following report for 12 half-bodies and for 59 bodies of revolution for the case of axial flow. The nose radius, the thickness distribution, and the trailing-edge angle were varied, while the fineness ratio was assumed practically constant throughout at 1:5. After a review of the systematic calculations, examples are given for bodies with assigned contours, as well as a discussion of the effects of other fineness ratios on the pressure distribution.
