A Brief Resume of the Work Done by TRE on "Longshot"

Abstract

The report gives a brief resume of the work done in the development of the air-to-air, guided missile Longshot. The newly designed, pulsed, X-band radars can detect a flying target up to a range of 7 miles. At ranges of less than 5 miles the radar can give the position, azimuth, and elevation of the target within 1/4 deg. Work has been conducted for the improvement of the control system and the improvement on the design of a pulse telemetering system for transmitting information from the missile to the ground station during flight.
