Fatigue Strength of Flush-Riveted Joints for Aircraft Manufactured by Various Riveting Methods

Abstract

Four types of aluminum rivets were tested at room temperature. Specimens were subjected to completely reversed loading. Cycles at the endurance limit were carried to ten million or over for each type. Test methods are described; values obtained for static tensile strength and endurance limits are tabulated.
