Wind-Tunnel Calibration and Correction Procedures for Three-Dimensional Models

Abstract

Detailed methods are presented for determining wind-tunnel corrections for effects of mode-support system, nonuniform airflow in tunnel, and tunnel wall or jet boundaries. Procedures are illustrated by equations. Required tests are discussed. Special attention is given to drag measurements. Two general methods used for determining and applying corrections to force tests, and correction procedures for wake survey tests are discussed. Methods apply only to tests at subcritical speeds.
