Butt Welds, 1/2 Inch Structural Nickel Steel Plate,
Abstract
This report covers the results of tests of butt welds made on 1/2 in. plate with several commercial low carbon steel electrodes and experimental alloy steel electrodes made up of commercial materials. The results include physical tests only and in most cases only one set of welding conditions was used with each electrode tried. All welds were tested without heat treatment and with the weld reinforcement machined off flush with the plate surface. The report includes results of work up to June 1, 1934.
